Our client, an intergovernmental institution in the financial sector, is looking for an economist to provide temporary support in the Chief Economist Department.
The selected candidate will work in the Chief Economist Department and will monitor and assess macroeconomic and financial developments and risks in euro area countries, and work with analytical tools for macro-financial risks detection.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
The selected candidate reports to the Head of Economic and Market Analysis, and has the following responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyse macroeconomic and financial market developments in euro area member states and the euro area;
- Produce notes and reports that contribute to the institution’s monitoring and analysis of economic and financial developments in member countries and the euro area;
- Contribute to briefings for Senior Management.
- Develop and use analytical tools, that provide insights on economic and financial developments and risks in euro area countries and the euro area;
- Contribute to policy design and to the translation of analytical results into operational action;
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in other divisions and departments, including in funding and investment operations, to exploit analytical synergies of economics, finance, and market intelligence;
REQUIRED PROFILE/SKILLS
- Master level degree, preferably in economics, finance, or econometrics. A PhD would be an asset
- Excellent knowledge of macroeconomics, including quantitative/econometric skills
- Experiences in international organisation is considered as an advantage
- Fluency in English, including very good drafting skills
